That's what DysPhilter is. Here's why DysPhilter had to exist.

The founding principle
It began with my own life. No diagnosis needed.
It began at the hardest point of my life. I had come out of a toxic living situation and used substances to numb it. At 46 I was back in my parents' house, in a very dark place, not wanting to exist anymore. My GP had raised neurodivergence, so I was waiting to be screened, with no idea how to move forward. What I could not do in that state was the everyday communication: answering the messages, taking the calls, going to the appointments, asking anyone for anything. That is the part DysPhilter® was built out of.
Behind that lay the communication and the social side of it, and a name I didn't have yet. A podcast — ADHD Chatter, with Alex Partridge — was where the phrase rejection sensitive dysphoria first reached me, and it explained why a perceived rejection could hurt as much as a real one, physically, in my body. Relationships were falling apart around me, and the way people worded their messages, their WhatsApps, their voice notes — I just couldn't cope. Then came the screening itself, and all their questions about how I had communicated at school, in my career, in my relationships. That is where the pieces of my life finally joined together.
I had spent twenty-odd years as a SEND teacher and still hadn't seen it in myself, so all of this was new to me. I was building before I ever found the neurodivergent communities online. Finding them didn't start this. It confirmed the path. It was never that I learnt about it and decided to build something for it — I was living all of it long before I had a name for it, just trying to get through one day at a time, and losing mum along the way. I got fed up of what it was doing to me, and of watching it happen to other people. So I have been building what I needed, and I can see that so many other people need it too.
And DysPhilter® never asks you for a diagnosis. NHS waiting lists run for years and a private diagnosis costs thousands, and neither is fair to people who already know they need support. Whether you are pre-diagnosis, mid-diagnosis or post-diagnosis, if you recognise yourself in any part of what is built here, that is enough. Self-knowledge is healthy. This was built to support you on your own journey.
This principle runs through every edition and every pathway: personal, enterprise, parent and carer, young person.
